Studied at the school of literature of Damascus University, Faculty of Arts 1955-1957, then moved to Germany where he studied painting at the faculty of Fine Arts in Berlin 1957-1963
Professor of Painting at the faculty of Fine Arts – Berlin since 1977.
Member of the academic der kunste in Berlin 1993 Won the Carl Hoover prize, – Berlin 1993 and the Prize of the Cite des Arts – Paris 1973
individual exhibitions in many Arab capitals and in Europe
His expressionistic style is marked by a special personalized flavor.
His works are found in a many European museums and in private collections
