Born in Damascus 1875-1940
Studied oil painting in Paris
Also studied architectecture and land survey engineering
Worked in the survey department in Beirut then moved to Damascus
Worked in the ministry of Awqaf where he supervised the restoration of old minarets and designed others
One of the pioneers of contemporary art in Syria he painted historical subjects, potraits and landscapes in a classical style of the orientalist period
His works are found in the national museum of Damascus the presidential palace and private collections
