Nasseer Shoura

Born in Damascus 1920-1992
Studied oil painting at the faculty of fine arts in cairo, 1943-1947
Worked as an art teacher in secondary schools in Damascus and later in the faculty of fine arts, Damascus from its founding in 1960 until 1990.
From 1970 on, he served as deputy dean of the faculty.
Awarded the Syrian Arab medal of excellence , first degree . he also received many other awards of honor.
One of the avant – garde impressionist whose primary compositional interest was color. Tuned to abstraction in 1964, but in 1970 went back to realism and worked in a new realistic style.
His works are found in the national museum of Damascus and the ministry of culture, the presidential palace and in private collections.
