Born in Damascus
studied oil painting in Cairo 1959-1965, then in Paris 1969-1972.
worked as an assistant professor then professor at the Fine Arts, then as a teacher and professor
Received many artistic awards – particular at the Alexandria Biennale in 1968, the craven A- art exhibition in 1967, and the Academy of fine arts in Paris
individual and group exhibitions in Syria and abroad.
his ability in realistic painting was strong since the beginning, He was also interested in old myths, folk life, and the problems of contemporary Arab life in a style combines realism and symbolism.
His works are in the National Museum in Damascus, the Ministry of Culture, the presidential Palace and in private collections
