  • Born in Damascus
  • studied oil painting in Cairo 1959-1965, then in Paris 1969-1972.
  • worked as an assistant professor then professor at the Fine Arts, then as a teacher and professor
  • Received many artistic awards – particular at the Alexandria Biennale in 1968, the craven A- art exhibition in 1967, and the Academy of fine arts in Paris
  • individual  and  group exhibitions in Syria and abroad.
  • his ability in realistic  painting was strong since the beginning, He was also interested in old myths, folk life, and the problems of contemporary Arab life in a style combines realism and symbolism.
  • His works are in the National Museum in Damascus, the Ministry of Culture, the presidential Palace and in private collections
